At Victoria East Radiology we strive to make your experience during your medical exam as comfortable as possible. Our priority is to obtain clear, concise images and to provide fast and accurate results. Above all else, we value our patients and their sense of comfort and well-being.
Nothing to eat or drink for 12 hours prior to exam. No breakfast, water, gum or candy.
Diabetics can have a light (non-fat, non-dairy) snack in the morning.
Prescribed medications can be taken with water.
*Children should fast for 4 hours and drink 3 cups of water prior to exam if able (under parents’ discretion).

Ultrasounds are performed by appointment only. We will try our best to accommodate urgent requests.
All medical imaging studies require a referral from your doctor. Your doctor’s office can fax us a copy of the requisition and we will contact you to book. If you have a copy of the requisition you can contact us directly to book your exam. Please bring your requisition with you to your appointment.
We ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment.
We know that life happens but please try and give us 24 hours notice when cancelling your appointment. We will do our best to reschedule your appointment in a timely manner.
Please see “Patients” section for any required preparation. The Sonographer may ask you to change into a gown when you arrive depending on the type of exam. Please don’t hesitate to call our office if you have any questions about the preparation.
We allow one adult guest in the exam room with you during the exam.
You will be allowed to bring in any other family members/friends into the room at the end of the exam.
We try to limit the distractions for our Sonographer during the exam, as it is important that their focus is what is on the Ultrasound screen.
Children are an exception in which we allow 2 adults in the room with them during their test.
The Sonographer will try their best to send you home with some pictures of your baby’s candid moments. The quality of the image depends on many factors, such as baby’s position, fetal age, maternal body habitus and the amount of amniotic fluid during the exam.
The finalized report will be faxed to your referring doctor within 24 hours after your exam. Please follow-up with your doctor to discuss results.
If the results require your doctors’ immediate attention we will call them directly to discuss the findings and fax them an urgent report.
Yes, you can now view and download your diagnostic images that were acquired at Victoria East Radiology. Please get in touch with our clinic to request access to your Patient Portal Access. We will give you a unique Activation code and PIN to access your images on your web browser.
If your doctor is requesting a copy of the medical images we can send to them directly.
Most exams take 30 minutes, depending on the body part being imaged. Some Obstetrical exams such as the routine anatomy scan may take up to 1 hour to do.
Yes. We are located on the 2nd floor but there is a lift available for use at the main entrance. The lift requires a key to access. Please stop by Victoria East Medical reception on main level for assistance.
The Sonographer can only do the requested body part that your doctor has requested on the requisition. In certain instances, the Radiologist will request that the Sonographer take extra images or re-book the patient for follow-up.
